I have 13 years experience and over a million miles driving commercial vehicles. The problem I have is I haven’t been over the road since 2002 and even thought I have all this experience I have been rejected by EVERY job on these mass sender sites. I cant get a chance to prove that I am better than any of the driving school flunkies out there. I learned school of hard knocks 68 Rio with a coffin sleeper, Twin Sticks, and My Old Man crackin my skull and knuckles anytime I screwed up. They don’t teach that in driving schools. If they did, There would be more PROFESSIONALS like back when trucking actually meant something. All I’m asking for is that chance.

looking for a trucking job got 2 tickets last year 2009 my truck was governored at 70 was told I was doing 75 in a 60 got over 15 yrs experience reefer and tanker in 2006 and 2007 got safe drivers awards and no tickets all i need is a chance to reprove my self I am a hard worker and reliable thanks and God Bless

i drove otr for a yr with no problems. then i left where i was at to work for another company. after a three week run i came home and found out i only made 37 dollars for the whole time i was out. so i put my two week notice in. that very same night while i was asleep they towed my truck to an impound yard, fired me, then out on my dac that i abandoned my truck. the trueth is they towed my truck away so i couldnt drive it back to the home terminal. no because of this shady move by the company i was with, nobody will hire me. its just not fair. i was just begginning my career and now it looks to be over. all because of some stupid lie by a very bad company. someone out there pllease give me a chance to get back to work. i have a terminaly ill wife and two kids, i live in the poorest county in fl. im broke. all i want to do is get back to work. im a damn good driver and an honest one. all i need is a fair shot

Driving School Flunkies??? Who I the hell are you to come up with a disrespectful statement like this? This “Flunkie” came up with the cash and signed his life away probably to some Pirate cut rate job for years just to get a chance of this way of life. Gotta start somewhere dont you. Well the best of luck to anyone with less than years of gear grinding and mistakes. Veterans of many years suffer mistakes sometimes that cost the ultimate in life… This is the future of the industry and needs to be cultivated to the highest degree no matter what the cost . I have had the same troubles as others, I have 16yrs experience but since I have been local for past years I can’t get OTR companies to give a break. I am looking to go OTR with spouse as ride along. I may even consider a lease option……Max

I just graduated from truck driving school in Airzona and seam to be haveing a hard time finding a job. Ihave a 94% GPA no tickets in 3 years, no accidents ever and a 15 year old misdemanor. Sure would like any info on a job if you of one.

long story for me april 5 2010 today
i was laid off in 10-08 with 45 other people tryed out a job with known carrier in 9-09 to
10-09 was hired for s.w. 6 states was sent to s.c. to iowa back to ca. home to phoenix az.
out for three weeks waited three weeks to get a truck before starting iam not a long haul guy
but i needed work co. didnt sing with there hired drivers driver manager didnt answer my
o.b.c. calls she 3was sick all the time didnt get my loads on time to make them on time so
anyway back in phoenix was earley with my load was sick of it all from the way i was done
called manager told her i quit was taking truck to phoenix yard i did turned everything complete
co put bad things on my dac report discharged i cannot get a job because of this i want a local
job but cannot get one at least 3 co. would of hired me but i have dac. report discharged on it
no one will hire me the longer i have no work the harder it is can anybody help me get a job

I graduated from TDDS truck driving school in 2008. Have not found a job driving.the school say i have to go back to school again and pay other $7000.00.I have some road time with a friend who drive’s i would like to get a job driving.I don’t have the money to go back to school and TDDS won’t help me.

John , Sorry to hear that your having a tough time finding a job. If you have to go back to school, make sure you go to a school that guarantees you a job when you complete the school. Many large carriers won’t enroll you unless you meet the hiring criteria.
